5 (or so) Things to Do in Nashville
1) General Jackson Showboat - Make sure to spring for the dinner and a show package. Nashville is full of overly talented people looking to perform and this place is a great showcase. Also, it’s close by two other must do attractions, The Opryland Hotel and the Grand Old Opry. Now, whether you like country music or not, any visitor has to go to the Grand Old Opry, ‘cause everyone you know is going to ask you if you did. The Opryland Hotel is the biggest hotel around (Vegas with a Country accent and some Morals). One of the best things to do is to take the Delta Riverboat tour around the inside of the hotel.
2) Broadway and 2nd Avenue - Nashville is the capitol of Country music…and this strip is the home of the best honky-tonks left around. Face it, there’s not much better whiskey sippin’ music than Cash.
3) Parthenon - It’s the world’s only replica. Why Nash-vegas..I have no ideas, but it is definitely worth at least a drive-by
4) Mammoth Caves - It’s a little outside the city, but it’s worth the drive. If ‘fat man’s squeeze’ doesn’t excite you, try the hard hat tour and get dirty seeing some of the less visited spots in the cave. You won’t get bored on the drive up either, there’s genuine pinewood bobsledding and many other roadside attractions where you not only get an experience, but you get to meet the locals.
5) Natchez Trace/Loveless Cafe - One of the best things about the South is the woods, and if you don’t want to backpack, might as well drive through them for a while, let the wind blow through your car, and loose some old reciepts to the wild. Also, stop by the Loveless Cafe. This is probably the last stand out as far as greasy, salty country food, and hey Nashville got it’s start as the Great Salt Lick.
Update: spelling has been corrected, have a nice day
